Corpus Albaruthenicum

The Text Corpus of the Academic Belarusian Language is the first attempt to create a domain-specific corpus aimed at providing a reference database for use by linguists, teachers, students, academics and the public. Such a corpus is of great importance since the Belarusian language functions in a specific linguistic environment, namely, written Belarusian is primarily limited to belles-lettres and newspapers, finding little application in academic writing with the exception of language-oriented studies, literature and folklore studies. Our goal is to offer a public collection of academic language resources in Belarusian that are not easily available to the broader public at present time.

Improvement of the health service by means of IT technology in dermal and lungs cancer diagnostics (IHSIT-CD)

Action is dedicated to improve the quality of health services in early dermal and lung cancer diagnostics using the advantages of IT technologies in cross-border regions. Improvements will be realized by:

-Development of decision making system for automatic diagnostics solutions of skin and lung cancers on the base of IT- analysis of data images received from patient using the multi spectral optical system.

-IT based solution system will reduce the influence of human factor in the diagnosis processes; reduce the possibility of mistake caused by not specialized enough personal, improving the quality of life providing accessibility of effective observation of the patients. Partnership consists from three leading medical establishments and two IT related organizations. Medical establishments from Belarus (Minsk & Vitebsk) and Lithuania. IT related partners are from Minsk & Vilnius.

-The standardized database of clinical examples will be constructed, developed and implemented on the background of infrastructure of Belorussian and Lithuanian partners by the set of data from leading oncology centers of partners countries,

-The access for professionals to common cross-border database will be organized, data exchange procedures between involved countries proposed.

-The experimental hierarchical two-level diagnostic network will be established. On the first level - all general practitioners, involved in this network, will receive the patient s' medical images developed using the modern tools and these images will be send to central operational unit; received results undergo automatic analysis of the imaging; the system will generate recommendation to diagnosis. On the second level – the oncology experts' community can analyze new clinical cases from database, expanding the standardized database, lead on-line consultation based on received images and requests from problematic and nonstandard cases.
